A busy weekend ahead with three runners, Greely bids to follow up his Leicester success at Newmarket on Friday night while Biotic and Spot Lite bid to get back in the winner’s enclosure at Salisbury on Saturday evening.
GREELEY – Friday 6:40 Newmarket RUK
A combination of a break, gelding, stepping up in trip and moving into handicaps saw an improved performance when the son of Sir Prancealot won convincingly by two lengths at Leicester last Thursday. That came off a mark of 60, however, the handicapper has decided to raise him a pretty hefty 11lbs for that success (RPR of just 66) so our hand is very much forced to run him under the six pounds penalty. He once again takes on the runner-up Delft Dancer and there is more strength in depth to this contest but we are hopeful he can progress and go the right way with a solid run tomorrow evening.
BIOTIC – Saturday 5:15 Salisbury RUK
Biotic has returned to form with a vengeance having gone three years without success with wins at Leicester and Sandown in recent weeks. Once again the handicapper hasn’t been generous with a 13lb rise for those two wins but he was beaten in a four way photo at Salisbury a fortnight ago off this mark and has won off five pounds higher in the past. Although he does have the welter burden of 12st2lb, there should be a stronger pace on offer than was the case last time and he stays further than a mile.
SPOT LITE – Saturday 6:45 Salisbury RUK
Spot Lite has had a good three-year-old campaign with three wins to his name and has had excuses for his last two defeats, a poor draw made life difficult for him at Windsor and did not see out six furlongs last time. He also drops back into Class 6 company and he should not be too far away.
