Three runners today, AIRSHOW is off to Newmarket and will be on ITV4 in a £45,000 handicap while SIR PLATO and LIVINGSTONES QUEST are in action closer to home at Chepstow this evening.

AIRSHOW – 2:45 Newmarket ITV4/RUK

Flashy chestnut gelding that has recorded two impressive successes on the all-weather at Kempton this season but showed he can handle turf when just getting touched off over today’s course and distance back in June. He is 4lb higher today in a more competitive race so it won’t be easy, however, there are only seven runners and it is not a strong race for £45,000. As one of the few pace angles on a track that suits prominent runners and some ease in the going, he should not be outsider of the field and will hopefully be picking up some of that decent prize money on offer.

SIR PLATO – 7:10 Chepstow ATR

An excellent 2017 saw Sir Plato record five wins which meant life was always going to be harder this season. However, he toughed out a win at Bath and was narrowly denied in a photo at Windsor next time out. He hasn’t been quite at his best on his last two starts and this race was originally due to be run at Bath which would have been much more suitable as all his wins have come around a bend. However, he can be tough to pass once getting out in front and is guaranteed prize money this evening.

Hasn’t done as well as hoped this season but Monday’s third at Windsor was a step in the right direction. That was a pretty competitive Class 5 event and tonight he runs in a pretty weak Class 6 contest that will be run on a softer surface. These two factors point to a big run tonight if he puts his best foot forward.
