Three runners for the yard at Kempton this evening.
SIR RODERIC – 6:15
Struggled last year in high-class handicaps after his winning spree as a three-year-old but is now 17lb lower than when he started last season. He has had a wind operation over the winter and seems in good form at home and will have come on for his run in the Spring Mile three weeks ago. It is his first run on the all-weather and while we would prefer soft turf, he has had three engagements since Doncaster and all have been abandoned so all-weather it is! He will enjoy racing round the bend (all five wins have come on a round track) and he could be one for the London Mile later in the season if he takes to the surface.
SIR PLATO – 6:15
Emulated Sir Roderic by winning five races last year, four of which came at his beloved Windsor. He is plenty high enough off 78 (his winning run began here at Kempton off a 21lb lower mark) but will have come on for his return three weeks ago.
AIRSHOW – 7:45
Active sort that had a consistent two-year-old campaign, placing in five of his first seven runs before winning at Newbury. He has only gone up 4lb for that success and while it was annoying an easier opportunity was abandoned at Nottingham on Wednesday, he ran well over course and distance last year and it will good to get his season going.
