This dry summer is not playing into Master Carpenter’s hands as he does prefer an easier surface but with plenty of water likely to have been put onto the track for the Eclipse and this heatwave all set to remain for the next couple of weeks, we thought it was worth taking a chance in a £75,000 handicap this afternoon. He actually finished third in this race back in 2015 on similar ground, beaten half a length of a 13lb higher mark and we also have the services of useful apprentice Rossa Ryan taking a further 3lb off so he still has each way claims at a big price.

DADDIES GIRL – Sandown 1:30 ITV

Daddies Girl has been a real credit to the yard, winning three times during a busy two-year-old campaign and showed she has trained on with some solid efforts this year. A mark of 92 makes her difficult to place and we would love to get some black type with her. This is the last three year old only fillies Listed event so we thought it was worth a go as a mile is her optimum trip but it looks to be a very hot contest and we will be really pleased if she can pick up some more prize money this afternoon.
