Two runners at Kempton this evening. AZURE AMOUR (5:50) had a successful first season with the yard, wining at Bath in mid-summer before been unlucky not to win over tonight’s course and distance on her final start at three. She has put on plenty of weight over the winter and should be winning plenty of races in the future but will improve for this comeback run.
ISIS BLUE (8:20) was an impressive winner here in January when coming through off a strong early pace and that was lacking when he only finished seventh last time out, albeit only beaten five lengths. This looks to be a pretty competitive handicap and he will need a strong pace to come from behind but certainly has each way chances off a low weight if that’s the case.
While we also have a runner at Bath’s opening meeting of the season with CAERLEON KATE (7:50) in the finale on Friday. She is a very lightly raced filly who had quite a few problems last season. She has strengthened up nicely in the winter and seems to be in good shape. It’s unfortunate she is 6lb out of the handicap but there are very few races she can get in off a mark of 45 and most of those are on the AW. However, Alice takes off 5lb so she only has 8st1lb and it will be interesting to see how she gets on.
