Three runners declared in the next 48 hours – lets hope we can get another winner.

Bonneville

BONNEVILLE – WEDNESDAY 7:35 SOUTHWELL SKY

Well the yard has had FOURTEEN seconds so far this season and this son of Champs Elysees has contributed to three of them on his last three starts. On his last two starts he has been unlucky, here at Southwell he just bumped into the very smart Smarter (cost £220,000 and his recent placed efforts off a stone higher showed he should never have been operating at Class 6 level) but beat the rest by six lengths and then led everywhere bar the line at Salisbury on Thursday. This looks a weak race on paper, perhaps the only fly in the ointment would be Hughie Morrison’s Spargrove, a very well bred son of Cacique who makes his handicap debut having shown nothing in Novices. Hopefully Bonneville can get that much deserved victory this evening.

Daddies Diva

DADDIES DIVA – FRIDAY 5:20 NOTTINGHAM RTV

This Coach House filly was particularly green on her debut in a strong race at Windsor but showed she was much sharper than that by nearly causing a 100/1 shock when second at Nottingham last week. Having cost just £2,000, she has already proven to be value but with her experience and sharpness at this stage of her career means we need to strike while the irons hot and having had a couple of options, we have decided to go back to Nottingham for the likely soft ground she enjoyed last time. Only three have run and she certainly sets the standard but James Given’s Callipygian ran well on debut from a bad draw at Beverley while we also have a dreaded Archie Watson newcomer in Dandy Man filly Quiet Word. Let’s hope we have chosen the right race.

ARDIMENTO – FRIDAY 6:50 NOTTINGHAM RTV

Full brother to Sir Roderic so we are looking forward to getting him onto some soft turf ground for his handicap debut. Showed plenty of ability in his first two starts before nothing went right on his third and final outing. The handicapper has taken no chances off 67 and he steps up two furlongs in trip but this should tell us more on how to campaign him and he is an exciting long-term project.
