MASTER CARPENTER is back on track and runs at Chester in the £75,000 Group 3 Huxley on Thursday (live on C4 2:40). Once again it is a very competitive Group 3 but he ran a cracker at Sandown thirteen days ago, finishing just behind Western Hymn in fourth (hot favourite tomorrow) and ahead of Top Notch Tonto. He has taken a while to get fit this term and he should improve again on this third outing and ten furlongs on drying ground is ideal. He is not the biggest individual so the tight turns of Chester should not be a problem and we are once again hoping for some prize money.
BIOTIC ran an improved race to stay on strongly for fourth at Windsor on Monday, suggesting that ten furlongs is now on the short side for him but it was a step back in the right direction.
