It is the last evening meeting of the year at Windsor and we are represented by two runners and they are both four-year-olds by Sir Prancealot.
GLORY OF PARIS – 6:45 Windsor ATR
Won at Chelmsford on his second start of the year off a 3lb higher mark and had some decent form on the turf in the spring, including a neck second to Mobsta over tonight’s course and distance. Had a short break but was disappointing on his return as he never got involved having been steadied at the start. Adam Kirby rides him for the first time and he might be the ideal jockey to get a tune out of him.
SIR PLATO – 7:45 Windsor ATR (pictured)
Loves it round Windsor, four of his five successes last year came at the riverside track and he narrowly lost out in a photo over course and distance in June. The huge concern today is that he loves to front run, but despite facing just five rivals, four of those also have a history of front running tactics. However, we have a top class jockey in Oisin Murphy who is riding at the top of his game (4 from 7 on the horse) and we will leave it up to him to solve!
All five runners performed creditably yesterday, with just DADDIES GIRL failing to reach the winners enclosure, and she was only beaten three lengths in a bunch finish having been unsuited by the steady pace. SWEET PURSUIT did not get the clearest of runs in her bid for a Ffos Las four-timer, just losing out in a three-way photo for second and ending up fourth. Arguably she was unlucky and should have been second but the winner was pretty impressive. Even so, it was a great effort up from Class 5 company to Class 3 and shows she remains in top form. CRYSTAL CASQUE was also up a grade in class and it showed but she ran another solid race to finish third beaten just over a length. STEEVE probably needed his return after a short break but was not disgraced in third at Goodwood. It was better from SIR RODERIC but he probably did not see out the straight mile at Salisbury.
