From a quiet start to the season, July is starting to come alive. With 4 winners to date the highlight being Master Carpenter in the John Smiths at York.

Master Carpenter has had a hard time with 3 quick races , he will have a bit of a break with his next target being the Rose of Lancaster stakes at Haydock, group 3 on the 8th August.

Very encouraging is Midnight Rider who won last Thursday (16th) at Chepstow and ran a close second last night (20th) at Windsor. This is the 1st time he has backed up with 2 good efforts. We may be turning a corner with him and have found a training regime that seems to suite him.

A good time, not only as said with encouraging results from Midnight Rider,  last night (20th) with Biotic winning over a mile and a quarter.

Update on Taws, although she’s been entered at Ascot on Friday (24th) she will probably wait for the 2 mile 5 furlongs Goodwood stakes at Glorious Goodwood on the 29th July. Taws has been one of the most improved horses we have had, starting off in the low 50s , she has now been second at Royal Ascot and also ran very well at Sandown in a listed race with a personel best of 97 RPR. Her long term aim would be the Cesarewitch which obviously is the race we won with Sergeant Cecil.
