We were delighted with Handytalk’s win at Windsor today, our first two-year-runner of the season in the British Stallions Studs EBF Maiden Stakes. It’s been a very lucky race for us and we’ve won it several times before. He was quite green so he will improve for the run and the Garter Stakes at Ascot, a race we have won before with Optimate, is the likely next target.
Windsor is always a great place to have a winner and Handytalk’s owners had a great time. It’s a super track with a great atmosphere and they always look after us very well. Ted Durcan was on board Handytalk and he’d been down and ridden him before the race to get a feel of him. He’ll ride for us this season when he is available.
We run Princess Annabelle at Exeter tomorrow. It’s a competitive race and she hasn’t run for a while. At Kempton on Wednesday Biotic runs in the 1m handicap with Oisin Murphy on board. He should run a good race as he has a nice draw and Oisin has a good record with us. Devonian is in the 6f handicap and Patrick rides him.
Bonnnie Grey goes for the Fred Darling at Newbury and we hope that Marcarno will redeem himself at Nottingham after his disappointing run at Chelmsford City.
