It has been a good couple of days for the yard and we had another winner with RAGSTONE VIEW at Newbury on Thursday, our ELEVENTH of 2018 and he took us past £100,000 in prize money for the year.

This Requinto gelding was purchased at last year’s Horses in Training sales as a potential fun handicapper for his owners Rioja Raiders and it was great he was able to win at the third attempt. He hasn’t been the easiest to train as like a lot of ex-Breeze Up horses he is pretty keen and while he has the ambitions to be a sprinter, he doesn’t possess a great deal of speed. Stepped back up to seven furlongs, he was dropped in at the back of the field by Oisin Murphy and having settled nicely, was produced with a winning run inside the final furlong to win a shade comfortably. Hopefully he can build on this and if he continues to settle, there could be further progress in him, especially if he stays a mile.

DADDIES GIRL did not seem to stay the ten furlongs in what turned out to be a very strong Listed race and HAWRIDGE GLORY once again had a poor draw but may need some help from the handicapper.
