It is a new week ahead but another busy one and hopefully some of those places can turn into winners.
Chaser PRESENT ACCEPTED returned from 35 months off the track to run a cracking race to finish fourth on his stable debut at Bangor. He travelled and jumped extremely well before understandably getting a bit tired. The handicapper actually dropped him four pound which would make him very well treated for the summer. Hopefully he doesn’t bounce after such a long lay off but he should run with credit at Kempton (4:05) tomorrow.
It has been nearly three years since ICEBUSTER last won but he is an extremely honest horse who always gives his best and has been second three times since returning from a leg injury. It is a competitive fifteen runner contest at Leicester (6:40) but he should again be thereabouts. SIR RODERIC (8:10) has had a good season, winning his first two races and may not have seen out the ten furlongs when beaten at Salisbury last time. He is probably our best chance of an upcoming winner and looks overpriced on the back of that recent defeat.
On Tuesday we again have two meetings at Nottingham and Lingfield. CHAMPAGNE CHAMP (3:50) won two soft ground handicaps at Ffos Las last season and he should improve as a four-year-old. He was boxed in on his return at Doncaster but still ran well to finish fourth and drops in grade tomorrow at Nottingham. The only slight concern would be the quicker ground but we will find out more on Tuesday and the long straight will suit him. BUKLE (5:20) shaped nicely when also fourth on his return at Chepstow. It is also a drop in grade for him and if he builds on that run he shouldn’t be too far away.
At Lingfield, EUGENIC (4:00) returns from a 535 day absence having had pelvic injuries but he has done plenty of work for his comeback. He is well handicapped on his form back in 2014 and it will be good to get him back on track.
