SIR RODERIC cosily won his second race of the season at Haydock on Saturday, handling the much quicker ground with ease and he looks as exciting horse for the yard this season. His next target depends on what the handicapper does but the Silver Bowl back at Haydock later in May could be a potential big race aim if he wins again.
Friday was a tad frustrating but all three horses finished fourth and brought some prize money back to Devon. MASTER CARPENTER ran a cracking race to finish fourth in the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown, improving on his return at Doncaster and he is likely to improve again as he carries plenty of condition as a five-year-old entire. HANDYTALK found five on the sharp side but stayed on well to suggest he can win back up in trip. CHAMPAGNE CHAMP found himself boxed in on the inside at Doncaster but stayed on well when the race was over and he should come on for that first run of the season.
We have our first two-year-old runner of the season in HAWRIDGE GLORY at Windsor on Monday. It looks a competitive race and the run will sharpen him up mentally but he will provide a guide to our other two year-olds that run later in the week.
