Salisbury survived an early morning inspection and will race for the second day running and once again we have four runners with good chances if coping on the ground and a further two at Windsor this evening.

STEEVE – 2:00 Salisbury

Steeve made a promising debut, staying on well for third place at Bath ten days ago. He looks a sure-fire winner on the back of that as our juveniles improve plenty for their initial experience. The ground is a complete unknown but he is the only runner left in the race with a run under his belt and that could count for plenty.

GLORY OF PARIS – 2:30 Salisbury

Glory of Paris is the only one of the four at Salisbury who we know will go on the heavy ground, as he has been second in competitive races at Windsor and Bath on similar going. He is creeping back up the handicap on turf but is still off the same mark as when he won at Chelmsford back in March. As long as stall four is not too much of a hinderance and he isn’t too far from the favoured stands rail, which was a big advantage yesterday, he is our best chance of a winner.

RED MIRACLE – 3:05 Salisbury

Well bred filly that was a bit weak as a two-year-old but shaped nicely on her debut at the track and has done well over the winter. Whether she wants heavy ground is a question mark but she makes her handicap debut in a winnable race.

MASTER GREY – 4:15 Salisbury

We were hopeful he would go very close on his return at Kempton as he has strengthened up nicely over the winter and looks like he could make up into a useful three-year-old. However, he ran no sort of race and he has a few questions to answer. There are only three runners today and while he should stay 1m6f, whether he wants such heavy ground is debateable. Hopefully he can get back on track.

SIR PLATO – 7:10 Windsor

Had a cracking three-year-old season, winning five times, four of which came at his beloved Windsor.  He obviously starts 2018 off a career high mark and things will be tougher this year but he should be happier back at Windsor and was not beaten far at Kempton last time. The obvious question mark is 1m2f as he did not see out the trip at other tracks last season but as there were no mile races coming up at Windsor, we feel it is worth another go.

HAWRIDGE FLYER – 7:40 Windsor

Hawridge Flyer has joined the yard this year and showed plenty of promise in soft ground maidens before getting off the mark when odds on at Ffos Las last season. It will be interesting to see how he gets on this evening and with the forecast rain missing the track, it could be his first run on a sound surface so we will learn plenty about him this evening.
