Slightly easier day ahead with three runners, all at our local track of Salisbury and with FOUR WINNERS in the last FOUR DAYS, it would be great if that winning run can continue.
STEEVE – 3:55 Salisbury RUK (pictured – thanks to Brian Kedward)
Tough Lethal Force two-year-old that won at the track on heavy ground back in April and returned to form when second at Chepstow on Friday night. It is a quick turnaround but it does not look a strong race for £20,000 and while he has the penalty, there are three newcomers in the race and his experience will count for plenty.
SWEET PURSUIT – 4:55 Salisbury RUK
Consistent filly that had an excellent 2017, rising from 51 to 66, although an 8lb rise for her second Lingfield success was particularly harsh and she ideally prefers a bit of ease in the ground. Unfortunately, she has proved a bit difficult in the stalls on her most recent starts and had to be withdrawn at Bath last time out. She has passed a stalls test in the meantime and the main aim today is she behaves herself and actually runs!
HANDYTALK – 5:25 Salisbury RUK
Tough sprinter that is probably too consistent for his own good, one win at Bath last year and three narrow defeats means he does not get much help from the handicapper as he is still seven pounds higher than his most recent win. Therefore we have gone for in-form apprentice Jason Watson to take off five pounds which should help him build on a solid third off this mark at Bath three weeks ago.
