A slightly frustrating day at Salisbury where the ground was the heaviest we have seen in quite a long time but three still found their way into the winner’s enclosure.
Daddies Girl performed best, finishing third in the fillies handicap under top weight. Unfortunately she hung away onto the slower ground in the centre and that probably cost her second but it was still a solid effort from this consistent filly. Champagne Champ has had a busy time and will be off on his summer holidays but still picked up £1,100 for fourth. Sir Roderic was too keen and saw too much daylight and confirmed that he does not have the stamina for ten furlongs. Mawde made a nice debut in the opener, making progress mid-race before getting tired and she will come on plenty for the experience.
