Three runners at Bath this afternoon, where hopefully the rain that is around the area will have taken the sting out of the firm ground but doesn’t turn conditions too soft, if so, all three should put up good shows.
MAUDE – 2:45 Bath ATR
Compact speedy filly that shaped better on her debut than the final finishing position suggests, showing speed mid-race before getting tired on the very heavy ground. She should find todays quicker surface more to her liking. Although it is a strong looking race, with New Queen a red-hot favourite, hopefully she can run better than her big odds suggest.
RED MIRACLE – 3:15 Bath ATR
Well bred filly that showed promise on two of her three starts in maiden company last year. She was disappointing on her return at Salisbury but may not have handled the heavy ground. She has her first run on a sounder surface and hopefully she will improve for todays conditions. She has blinkers and a tongue tie on in a bid to get her back on track.
HANDYTALK – 5:05 Bath ATR
Consistent sort that had a good 2017, with one win and three seconds. Should have come on for his comeback run here at Bath where they went plenty hard enough in the early stages. While he is still high enough in the handicap, he should not be too far away this afternoon.
